CENTRO DI MUSICA ANTICA PIETÀ DE TURCHINI - Italy

Active in Naples since 1997, the Pietà de' Turchini Foundation aims to promote and disseminate knowledge of early music in all its forms and expressions, both in Italy and abroad. The Foundation focuses particularly on the repertoire of the Neapolitan School of Music between the 16th and 18th centuries. The Foundation's most original and distinctive feature is its combination of performance and staging with research and scientific reflection. This has given rise to an increasingly lively and fruitful dialogue, providing timely opportunities for scientific investigation through original productions. Experimentation in contemporary and traditional music is also a key focus, with some productions and world premieres by well-established and emerging composers.
