The opening of the "Tengo Genio" season of the Pietà de' Turchini Foundation is given by soprano Silvia Frigato and the Mare Nostrum Ensemble, conducted by Andrea De Carlo, with a history of crossed destinies between a great composer and his angelic singer: Marc’Antonio Orrigoni, one of the most famous castratos of his generation, rediscovered through an imaginary songbook collecting the arias composed for him by Alessandro Stradella.
With Rome, Genoa, Modena, splendid opera theaters and magnificent palaces that form a gilded, glittering background. An incredible journey that will thrill you while rediscovering the hidden pages of the Golden Age of the Italian Seicento. To crown the programme, highly original instrumental dances that the young Stradella composed for several operas performed at the Tor di Nona Theatre in Rome, and that contributed to Stradella's fame and legend.
