Bach in Berlin

17 February 2024/ Italy / Naples

With "Bach in Berlin" - a concert under the patronage of the Italian Bach Society - the Académie Ottoboni offers a look at some of C.P.E. Bach's works, his relationship with his father and the court of Frederick II of Berlin!
As well as the famous Sonata for solo flute wq132 from 1747, written for the King, the programme includes the Sonata in G minor BWV1020 with obbligato harpsichord, written for two hands with his father at his home in Leipzig, the Sonata wq124, written in 1737 during his student years in Frankfurt, Wq128 and the Sonata by J.S. Bach BWV1034 both written for the Berlin court in 1741 and a fantasia for solo harpsichord Wq117 from 1747.
This is therefore a miniature exploration of the world of the "Berliner Bach" through some of his most intimate works which invite us to feel the most diverse human emotions, from the darkest to the most luminous.
