Innsbrucker Festwochen der Alten Musik - Austria

Founded in 1976, the Innsbruck Early Music Festival was originally a series of concerts linked to a summer academy. Over the decades, it has evolved into a six-week festival celebrating early music in all its richness.
In 2024, a new chapter began with Eva-Maria Sens as Artistic Director and Ottavio Dantone as Musical Director. Dantone brings a fresh perspective to the festival, highlighting little-known Italian repertoire and historical links with Austria. Renowned for its blend of tradition and innovation, the Innsbruck Festival continues to captivate audiences with world-class performances, showcasing the timeless beauty of early music.
