REMA General Assembly: Valletta

On 20, 21 and 22 January 2026, REMA is organising its first conference of the year in the historic city of Valletta, at the invitation of Festivals Malta / Valletta Baroque Festival. This event brings together nearly a hundred organisations from the sector and offers a rich programme combining working sessions, discussions and artistic discoveries, at the heart of one of Europe's largest baroque festivals.
During the conference, participants will attend the REMA General Assembly to review the past year and present the outlook for 2026, as well as lectures on Malta's musical heritage. Thematic workshops will address the sustainable transition of the music sector, and network members will have the opportunity to present their projects. Guided tours will offer the chance to discover Malta's cultural heritage.
The artistic programme includes exceptional concerts, including the dress rehearsal of Pelopida, the first known complete performance of Girolamo Abos' opera, performed by the Arianna Art Ensemble conducted by Giulio Prandi and directed by Brett Nicholas Brown. The conference will also feature the performance Goldberg Reflections, offering a contemporary interpretation of the Goldberg Variations combining transcriptions and new compositions and providing a unique perspective on this masterpiece.
