Hamburger Ratsmusik: Dietrich Becker, Sacred Concertos

As a violist and composer, as colleague of J.A. Reincken, M. Weckmann and H. Scheidemann and director of the former Hamburger Ratsmusik, Dietrich Becker was a prominent personality of the 17th Century Northern German music scene. His collections of instrumental suites and sonatas are outstanding examples of the Northern style. With this recording of his vocal music Becker’s Sacred Concertos are now published as world premier recordings.
