B.O.X.: H.I.T. Residency '26

B.O.X.: H.I.T. Residency '26
The H.I.T. residency programme has launched a new call for applications, inviting professional musicians with a background in early music to submit artistic proposals that engage in an active dialogue with the aesthetics, practices and instrumentation of early music.

Rather than focusing on finished productions or stage-ready performances, the programme places the emphasis on artistic research, experimentation and collective exploration. H.I.T. encourages projects that go beyond the traditional repertoire, open up unexpected collaborations, explore new artistic directions or seek to connect with wider and more diverse audiences.

Designed as a space for reflection and exchange, the residency is not conceived as a summer course or masterclass, but as an opportunity for artists to question their own artistic practice and rethink what early music — and classical music more broadly — can represent today. The programme is open to musicians from all backgrounds and disciplines who wish to redefine their role as performers, creators and collaborators.
Four individual residents will be selected on the basis of the quality and originality of their artistic proposal. During the residency, participants will benefit from time, space and financial support to further develop their projects, while engaging with B.O.X’s artistic team and the other residents.

The residency will take place from 16 September to 5 October 2026 at CASA SAGA in Antwerp, Belgium, a unique venue combining professional working spaces, on-site accommodation and a shared environment designed to foster collaboration and artistic exchange. Selected artists will receive a fee of €150 per day for 15 working days, as well as travel support of up to €400.

Application deadline: 30 June
