The Telemann-Zentrum Magdeburg (Centre for Telemann-Research) is a scientific institution that researches the work and life of the composer Georg Philipp Telemann and presents it's research to the public, as well as organising events with national and international impact. The Telemann Centre is a separate department within the department of art and culture of the state capital Magdeburg and thus part of the municipal administration.
The tasks of the Telemann Centre are research into the work and life of the composer Georg Philipp Telemann, the maintenance of a scholarly library including an archive and the conception and realisation of events focusing on Telemann's work like the Magdeburger Telemann-Festtage, the International Telemann Competition Magdeburg, the concert series Sonntagsmusik and the Telemann-Sommerfest.
