Kultur Büro Elisabeth - Germany

Kultur Büro Elisabeth
Kultur Büro Elisabeth has been an active cultural actor in Berlin-Mitte since 2003, serving both as a venue operator and as a trusted partner for organisers across a wide range of artistic and public events. Its work is centred on four historic venues – St. Elisabeth Church, Villa Elisabeth, Sophien Church and Zion Church – all listed buildings whose distinctive architecture allows for exceptional artistic encounters and productive exchanges.

The organisation acts as an interface between curated cultural projects and these unique spaces, balancing the opening of church buildings to the public with the preservation of their identity. Alongside cultural programming, the venues host commercial events such as conferences, award ceremonies, dinners, fashion shows and film productions. Income from rentals and services directly supports the maintenance of the buildings and the development of modern technical infrastructure.
Guided by the principle "OPENING SPACE FOR CULTURE", Kultur Büro Elisabeth curates its programme through a selective process focused primarily on artistic quality. The programme encompasses contemporary dance, music theatre, early music and new music, without restricting itself to a single artistic discipline or repertoire. A carefully curated diversity encourages cross-fertilisation, supports new artistic impulses and attracts varied audiences.

Core objectives include offering space for strong artistic ideas, opening architecturally remarkable venues to experimentation, and integrating each site into the artistic concept of a project. The organisation also seeks to facilitate connections between artistic disciplines, explore thematic links, dissolve genre boundaries and create meaningful encounters between different communities of culture lovers.
