2024 Music / Wine / Heritage programme 25 June to 4 July
Bordeaux - Cenon - Léognan - Martillac - St Michel de Rieufret - Saint Selve
Now in its 21st year, the 2024 programme of Festes Baroques faithfully supports emerging early music artists and ensembles (Il Groviglio, Comet Musicke, etc.), helping them to develop their professional careers, particularly in conjunction with the REMA European network.
Witnesses to the vitality and modernity of these artists, new performances of cross-disciplinary aesthetics are offered to the public, like so many moments of fantasy, of creative irregularity, inspired by the very etymology of the word baroque: barroco = pearl of unexpected form...it couldn't be better said!
Origami in sound, or artistic fencing (practised in the 17th century), or the meeting of new urban cultures with traditional and learned ones (FugaCités - choreography by Mourad Merzouki, slam, hip hop) renew the approach around the baroque universe.
This rich and varied programme includes a number of meetings and round tables with free admission, open rehearsals with commentary for schoolchildren, a Masterclass, and listening workshops.
The discovery of the wine châteaux and the tastings offered after the performances pay tribute to the local heritage and its universally recognised identity as a terroir.
