Collegium Vocale Gent, founded in 1970 by Philippe Herreweghe, has played a pioneering role in a revolutionary approach to Baroque music, with a particular emphasis on authenticity and textual depth. In just a few years, the ensemble gained worldwide renown, performing at the most prestigious venues and festivals around the world, from Europe to the United States, from Russia to Japan. In 2017, the ensemble added a new dimension to its rich history by launching its own summer festival, Collegium Vocale Crete Senesi, in the beautiful region of Tuscany.

With unrivalled flexibility and a varied repertoire covering different musical periods, Collegium Vocale Gent has established itself as a leading ensemble on the international music scene. Whether performing Renaissance music as soloists, Bach's vocal works or large-scale symphonic interpretations of classical, romantic and contemporary repertoires, the ensemble always brings together the ideal formation.

Its own label, φ (PHI), provides a platform for innovative and rich interpretations of works by Bach, Beethoven, Gesualdo, Monteverdi and many others. Thanks to the support of the Flemish Community, the city of Ghent and the National Lottery, Collegium Vocale Gent continues to be a beacon of musical excellence and artistic innovation.
