REMA Code of conduct
The Code of Conduct, co-developed and approved by the network members, reflects their commitment to upholding high ethical and professional standards in their interactions with others, and to strengthening REMA’s role as a model organisation and representative voice for the sector.
As the network gathering the Early music sector at the European level, representing a large diversity of organisations and horizons, REMA has the legitimacy to address the challenges that will shape the identity of the sector in the future, and the responsibility to promote exemplary behavior in the sector.
REMA is specifically committed to fighting against power abuse and sexual harassment in the sector. The fear of repercussions on one’s career, feeling of isolation against a powerful aggressor, the need to minimise a bad experience as self-protection, the fear of not being believed, the guilt or doubt instilled by the aggressor... There are many reasons for not speaking out. Power abuse may take many forms, and perpetrators know how to blur the lines to maintain control.
For these reasons, REMA aims to open a safe, confidential space where victims can get support: anyone can write to alerterema@rema-eemn.net.
