The REMA team at the 13th European Music Forum, organised by the European Music Council
Last week, REMA had the honour of taking part in the 13th European Music Forum, organised by the European Music Council, to contribute to essential discussions on musical diversity in Europe.

This edition also marked the 20th anniversary of the UNESCO Convention on the Protection and Promotion of the Diversity of Cultural Expressions - a key moment to reflect on the progress and challenges ahead.

Representing the early music sector, Claudia Stobrawa (board member), Adèle Fourcade (general secretary) and Francesco Spina (production manager) brought the REMA perspective to the table, alongside many committed players from across the European cultural landscape.
Following this meeting, our candidate Claudia Stobrawa, supported by REMA - European Early Music Network, was elected to the Board of the European Music Council!

The key messages that emerged - and that REMA will continue to defend:
  • Cultural diversity must remain a fundamental pillar of EU cultural policy.
  • Fair remuneration and recognition of artists must be a shared priority.
  • AI and new technologies present both opportunities and risks - the sector must remain committed to developing relevant policies.
  • Broader alliances with EU institutions, beyond cultural ministries
