VIA MEDIAEVAL 2021 - "Northern Lights"
3 to 25 September 2021, Germany
The 21th festival edition of Via Mediaeval, themed "Northern Lights", takes place from 3 to 25 September at Romanesque churches of the German Rhineland-Palatinate region. Some at large and famous venues like Speyer Cathedral, others in smaller churches with suitable acoustics, like in Hornbach.
The 2020 edition has been postponed to 2021, but the festival is happy to announce prevalent northern ensembles with their mediaeval program of Lithuania, Finland, Estonia, Denmark and Sweden.

The umbrella topic issued by Kultursommer Rheinland-Pfalz is entitled "Kompass Europa" (The European Compass). In 2022, the festival will towards Eastern Europe, in 2023 towards Western Europe and in 2024 towards Southern Europe.
