Internationale Bachakademie Stuttgart
The Internationale Bachakademie Stuttgart, founded in 1981 by Helmuth Rilling, is a leading institution dedicated to preserving and promoting the music of Johann Sebastian Bach. Based in Stuttgart, it is renowned for its historical interpretations, music education programmes and innovative projects.

The Akademie's ensembles, including the Gaechinger Cantorey and the Young Stuttgart Bach Ensemble, perform sacred vocal and choral-symphonic works spanning several centuries. Under the artistic direction of Hans-Christoph Rademann since 2013, the Bachakademie has expanded its repertoire, not least through the award-winning VISION.BACH initiative.
Highlights include the Musikfest Stuttgart and the forthcoming International Bach Festival 2025, which will explore ‘Bach and Latin America’. Through performance, education and international collaboration, the Bachakademie honours Bach's legacy while inspiring new audiences around the world.
