IMAGO MUNDI

IMAGO MUNDI

IMAGO MUNDI is not an ensemble, nor a ‘collective,’ but a meeting place—where old and new music, Western and Eastern traditions, and different artistic disciplines converge. With a constantly changing lineup of musicians gathered around artistic director Sofie Vanden Eynde, IMAGO MUNDI serves as both a home and a breeding ground for encounters, musical ideas, and a sincere approach to artistic expression.

Each project is different, always surprising, yet driven by the same deep artistic inquiry and a focus on offering audiences a fully immersive experience.

From the very beginning, IMAGO MUNDI has embraced diversity. The encounter between old and new music, as well as between Eastern and Western traditions, forms its artistic DNA. Collaborations with Palestinian, Turkish, Iranian, Iraqi, and Tunisian musicians (Divine Madness, Murmuring Muses and Whispering Jinn, Whirling Waters, De los Álamos vengo,…), the fusion of contrasting musical styles (In My End Is My Beginning and Punto in Aria), and explorations of socially relevant themes (Vanishing Point) are just a few examples of this unique artistic vision.
