El Gran Teatro del Mundo - Spain
The artistic conception of El Gran Teatro del Mundo is based on the conviction that an interpretation that is sincere and coherent with the aesthetics of the period is capable of awakening the universal emotions contained in the baroque repertoire, and in this way, of reaching today’s audiences.
The ensemble, under the direction of Julio Caballero Pérez, specialises in the French Baroque, although its programmes include repertoire ranging from the German 17th century to classical repertoire. Since its foundation in 2016, they have performed at numerous festivals and venues such as St. John’s Smith Square in London, Oude Muziek Utrecht, Festival Internacional de Santander, Konserthuset Stockholm, the Palais des Beaux-Arts de Bruxelles (Bozar), Festival Llums d’Antiga de Barcelona, Festival d’Ambronay, Sibelius Museum (Finland), The National Centre for Early Music (UK), Festival Baroque de Tarentaise, Urbino Musica Antica, Korkyra Baroque Festival, Festtage Alte Musik Basel or the Riga Early Music Festival, among others.
Among the very positive reception of its discography by the critics, it is worth mentioning the Diapason d’Or awarded to their debut album Die Lullisten and the recent Classica magazine’s Choc awarded to his second album, La vida es sueño.

The projection of the group continues to grow thanks to its performances on the main stages of the continent as well as due to the resounding broadcasting of the semi-staged opening concert of the 2024 edition of the International Festival of Sacred Art of the Madrid through the renowned French-German channel ARTE.tv.
