"As a musician I have always been very sensitive to the fundamental character of the instrument to understand, translate and therefore revive a language and a form of communication now belonging to the past; the only real bridge, with the written musical text, which allows us to find all these conventions now very distant from us in time and foreign to today's taste. Echi Lontani's philosophy is therefore based on a very simple principle that can easily be traced back to the words of Richard Taruskin taken from his essay entitled "The Past of the Present and the Presence of the Past" which says: "In the practice of the performance, instruments, or playing styles that are historically appropriate to the music being played”. These simple words make us understand how much the musical instrument, and its appropriate use in each artistic production, are the key to rediscovering this language, and therefore these sounds, now distant and changed over time, distant echoes."
