EGERIA - Spain

EGERIA
In a world where medieval music is often perceived as a distant echo of the past, EGERIA stands as a beacon of innovation and accessibility, transforming this ancient repertoire into a vibrant and contemporary experience. Founded by Lucía Martín-Maestro Verbo and Fabiana Sans Arcílagos, the female vocal ensemble specializes in early repertoires, bringing medieval music to new heights and making it come alive for audiences of all kinds.

EGERIA has made its mark on major stages in Spain, France, Mexico, Lithuania, Mozambique, Gabon, and Belgium, with over a hundred concerts captivating listeners from all backgrounds. The ensemble has received the prestigious FestClásica 2024 Label, the GEMA Press Award for Best Group 2024, the GEMA Prize for Best Medieval Music Ensemble, and support from Ibermúsicas 2023. Their debut album, Imperatrix Agatha, won the MIN Award for Best Classical Album 2024 as well as the GEMA Audience Award for Best Album 2024.
EGERIA does more than perform music: the ensemble democratizes access to a fundamental cultural heritage—one that needs to be experienced in order to truly exist. Its mission is clear: to make medieval music resonate in the present, connecting audiences with their history and heritage. At every performance, EGERIA offers a unique sound journey, where melodies from long-gone eras blend with a fresh and authentic approach.

The ensemble is preparing a new album for spring 2026 and is also planning a tour in Mexico in 2026, continuing its mission to share medieval music across the world.

Journey to the World of Wonders - Concert and CD release

France

Programme
In the vast expanse of time and space, two iconic figures of exploration will unite their destinies to prepare an unprecedented journey: Egeria, the intrepid fourth-century pilgrim, and Marco Polo, the Venetian adventurer. In a legendary encounter, these two exploratory spirits now set out together on a shared mission: to discover the enigmatic and fantastical World of Wonders, a realm where reality intertwines with the imaginary. This programme brings together a miscellany of heterogeneous repertoires (Spanish, Italian, Maronite, and Chinese) and is composed largely of “wandering” pieces, music that has travelled through time and space, finding its home in distant, sometimes unexpected places, crossing cultural and geographical boundaries to take refuge in lands other than those in which it was created, carrying with it stories of exchange, encounter, and convergence.
