zamus: impro lab - improvisation in early music
From 16 September to 21 April Germany / Cologne
A workshop series for early music musicians, the adventurous, and sound explorers.
Through a combination of guided workshops and self-organised labs, the series creates space for a wide range of musical experiences: beginners can take their first steps into free improvisation, while more experienced musicians can expand and deepen their practice – all in a relaxed and supportive atmosphere.
The series culminates in a performance at the historical dance ball as part of the zamus: early music festival in May 2027 (participation is voluntary). Together, we will create a live improvisation project accompanying dancers and quite literally putting early music into motion.
Target group: Early music students, musicians (amateurs and professionals) with an interest in early music and improvisation. Open to all instruments and levels of experience. The music will be performed at A=415 Hz.
