zamus: early music festival I Mahler and Beethoven four-hands

Alexandra Nepomnyashchaya and Richard Egarr present as Duo Pleyel four-hands on the fortepiano the Carl Czerny's pianistic arrangement of Ludwig van Beethoven's Pastoral Symphony. Carl Czerny was Beethoven's pupil and long-time companion. Also on the program is Gustav Mahler's famous Adagietto from the 5th Symphony. This is regarded as Mahler's musical love letter to his future wife Alma: she replied with a simple and yet meaningful “Come!”.
The concert will be recorded by Deutschlandfunk.
