Zamus: early music festival I Le sace de mon temps I Christina C. Messner
22 May/19h30 Germany / St. Gertrud, Krefelder Str. 57, 50670, Cologne
Laboratory format between experiment, noise and melody
Violinist Christina C. Messner's program combines traditional songs, actions, movements and images in a music-theatre format. It invites you on a journey along the fine line between experiment and song, between catchy and artfully abstract, between noise and melody. The violinist combines songs, chants, rituals, texts and images from past times and different cultures. Gregorian chant, traditional Arabic-Syrian Easter songs, Jewish songs from the Passover tradition and the Tsar ritual from North Africa and the Middle East merge with interviews and conversations.
The music-theater format with two performers from the fields of acting and music and an academic speaker sees itself as a forum, projection platform and laboratory.
