– Mozart – Pollini – Bellini

Aco Bišćević (tenor and piano)

Francesco Pollini (1762–1846), a tenor and pianist from Slovenia, was a friend and pupil of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and later became one of Europe's most important piano teachers. Mozart composed especially for him, and when Pollini later supported the young Vincenzo Bellini in Milan, Bellini dedicated his famous opera La Sonnambula to him.
In this programme, we hear songs by all three composers. The tenor and pianist Aco Bišćević accompanies himself on the piano, in keeping with historical tradition. The programme includes Mozart's song Das Veilchen, Bellini's Vaga luna and previously unperformed piano cantatas by Pollini.
