Journey to Wonderland

Across the vast expanse of time and space, two iconic figures of exploration will join forces to embark on an unprecedented journey: Egeria, the intrepid 4th-century traveller, and Marco Polo, the Venetian adventurer. In a legendary encounter, these two exploratory spirits now embark together on a shared mission: to discover together the enigmatic and fantastical World of Wonders, a realm where reality intertwines with the imaginary. This programme, which brings together a miscellany of diverse repertoires (Spanish, Italian, Maronite and Chinese), consists mainly of ‘wandering’ pieces—music that has ‘travelled’ through time and space, finding a home in distant, even unexpected places, crossing cultural and geographical borders to find refuge in lands other than those where they were created, carrying with them stories of exchange, encounter and convergence.
