Venite exultemus - Concerto Soave

Romain Bockler and Jean-Marc Aymes present a programme dedicated to motets for bass voice and violins ‘à l'italienne’, a rarer arrangement than that for soprano and treble, but one in which both composers demonstrated magnificent inventiveness.

Campra and Bernier represent the pinnacle of the ‘Italian style’ so popular in France at the beginning of the 18th century. Their motets combine French elegance and nobility with Italian freshness, drama and naturalness.
