TU RESTI, O MIO BEL NUME, anniversario Alessandro Scarlatti

29 August/18h00 Italy / Conegliano, Sala dei Battuti

Scarlatti was one of the most versatile Baroque composers, capable of combining rigor and melodic imagination. After establishing himself in Rome, thanks in part to the patronage of Christina of Sweden, he moved to Naples in 1684 as choirmaster, where he expanded his vocal production. Among his numerous cantatas, those intended for the bass voice are few compared to those for soprano or contralto. This concert presents a selection, showcasing the expressive variety and refined writing that characterize this repertoire.
