A hit from 1720 in a bijou setting: BREZZA revives Handel's opera Rinaldo in an intimate ensemble of five during the Festival Oude Muziek Tournees in Bloemendaal, Deventer, Maastricht and 's-Hertogenbosch. The musicians, who won the Audience Award and the Festival Oude Muziek Utrecht Prize at the International Van Wassenaer Competition in 2024, were inspired by a historical discovery in The Hague: opera hits by George Frideric Handel adapted by contemporaries into chamber music. BREZZA presents the grand opera in a pocket edition, in which the viola da gamba outshines the human voice.
