Stage Performance Creation
From 08 December to 12 November France / Vézelay
Misneach — a Gaelic word meaning courage, spirit, and strength of soul — celebrates the tenth anniversary of The Curious Bards by reimagining their eighteenth-century repertoire. Conceived as a complete stage work, this creation intertwines music, dance, theatre, and visual projections to offer an immersive experience where tradition and innovation harmoniously meet.
At the heart of the project lies a desire to shed light on the role of women in Irish and Scottish culture, reinterpreting their stories through the lens of early music. Pieces such as Mable Kelly, Daughters Lament, and Miss Noble serve as symbols of memory and resilience, evoking the hopes, struggles, and strength of women across time.
More than a celebration of a repertoire, this performance becomes a reflection on transmission, collective memory, and the presence of women in artistic creation. By weaving together musical and visual languages, Misneach bridges the past and the present, inviting audiences to listen, reflect, and dream. The project pays tribute to the women of the past while inspiring those of today, transforming the stage into a living space of dialogue, courage, and renewal — an echo of voices that continue to resonate through time.
