Carles Magraner proposes a musical journey through the medieval Mediterranean inspired by the travels of Ramon Llull. The musical references in Llull’s writings are brief. In the Revelatio secretorum artis by the 18th-century Lullian scholar Ivo Salzinger, there is a section titled De Secreto Musicae where, after reiterating the musical authority of Boethius and Pythagoras, the division of the monochord and consonances, the circle of fifths, and Guido of Arezzo’s solmization system are discussed. Following this, it is affirmed that music is an "art invented to order many voices harmonizing in one song."
