From 21 May to 21 May Germany / Köln

Collective of Unfinished Creation

Charlotte Nachtsheim – soprano
Cyril Escoffier – tenor
Darina Ablogina – Renaissance transverse flute, artistic director
Sébastien Mitra – organ & harpsichord
Louis Keller – samples
Christina C. Messner – audio-visual installation

The opening evening at the Trinitatiskirche will be launched by the Collective of Unfinished Creation from Switzerland with singing and an audio-visual installation. Inspired by John Milton’s ‘Paradise Lost’, but also by the lesser-known libretto ‘The State of Innocence and the Fall of Man’, the ensemble presents a programme combining music by Dowland, Strozzi and Caccini, amongst others, with contemporary sound installations by Christina C. Messner. At the heart of the programme is the idea of the transformation of human conditions, illustrated, among other things, by Lucifer’s fall from heaven.
16th- and 17th-century music from England and Italy by John Bull, John Banister, John Dowland, Henry Purcell, Francesca Caccini, Barbara Strozzi, Thomas Weelkes, Giovanni Bassano and others, as well as an audiovisual installation by Christina C. Messner.
