Baroque UFO

Since 2017, Emmanuelle Dauvin has been working to revive a historical technique: she plays the violin whilst accompanying herself on the organ pedals. Since then, she has embarked on a career as a soloist based on this spectacular approach, which she has dubbed ‘OVNI baroque’ (Orgue Violon Nouvelle Interprétation).

Together with soprano Heather Newhouse, she presents the programme Cantata a deux, a journey through arias and instrumental pieces for soprano, violin and bass by J.S. Bach, to be rediscovered in a unique arrangement. The arias are presented within the structure of a sonata for two, whose simplicity reveals an unexpected richness.
