OPEN CALL - Deadline: 1st March - Academia Capella de Ministrers
From 03 February to 01 March Spain / Valencia (Spain)
Acadèmia CdM is the educational project of Capella de Ministrers, offering young early music performers the tools to explore and develop this unique repertoire. This residential course combines historical practice with practical experience, covering both vocal and instrumental music from the 12th to the 18th centuries.
Participants study interpretation, improvisation, ornamentation, counterpoint, organology, and stage presence, using sources from the Middle Ages to the Baroque. The teaching method is flexible, encouraging initiative and artistic growth.
This year, the program will focus on Il Festino by Adriano Banchieri (1568–1634). Past and current projects have included the Cançoner del Duc de Calàbria, Renaissance European music, Selva Morale by Monteverdi, Renaissance dances, the Cancionero de Palacio, and, soon, Barca di Venetia per Padova.
The course offers a limited number of places, and applications are now open. It includes a training phase and a professional practice phase. Students will have the opportunity to gain practical experience alongside Capella de Ministrers, under the direction of Carles Magraner, the ensemble’s director since 1987.
