Note senza tempo Festival & SYEMF Festival
17 May/19h00 Italy / Sassari
TOGETHER – INSIEME – JUNTOS – ENSEMBLE
The concert “Insieme – Together – Juntos – Ensemble” brings together the “Cristobal Galan” Academy of Early Music, the “Istituto Musicale Città di Thiene”, the “Early Music Youth Orchestra” and London’s “String Academy” to perform original works from the 16th to the 18th century on replicas of period instruments. The youth ensembles will be joined by the masters of their respective academies. The initiative bears the mark of the SYEMF Festival. Now in its fourth edition, the festival is dedicated to young talents approaching early music. Founded in 2022, at the same time as the Galan Academy, from this year it has been included within the international festival “Note senza tempo”.
“Dolci Accenti focuses on the training of early music starting from its roots, that is from young people, in order to foster an interest in this musical genre,” explains president Calogero Sportato.
The geographical location of Sardinia often represents an insurmountable limitation for many students in continuing their musical studies, due to the limited opportunities for further training, specialization, and concert performance. Students of early music are even more penalized, as there are no masters or study opportunities available on the island.
“Since 2024 our association has brought its know-how to Veneto, in Thiene, where together with two local associations it manages the ‘Istituto Musicale Città di Thiene,’” explains Daniele Cernuto, artistic director of Note senza tempo. “It is precisely there that several initiatives dedicated to early music – mainly aimed at young people – have started, some of whom will be protagonists of the concert at Palazzo di Città.” The collaboration with Alberto Sanna, current director of the Galan Academy, has led to the partnership with the Early Music Youth Orchestra and London’s String Academy.
