The show, on the occasion of the 400th anniversary of her birth, restores the complex figure of Christina of Sweden, among the most charismatic and nonconformist personalities of the European seventeenth century. A sovereign who abdicated the crown at a very young age to convert to Catholicism and maintain her independence, Christina was a patron of artists, an academic, and a central figure in the cultural scene of the time, also linked to the Este territory due to her stay at the Palazzo Ducale in Sassuolo in 1658 as a guest of Francesco I. In this scenic action led by the dramatic monologue and the historically informed acting of Deda Cristina Colonna, the queen's voice emerges from letters, autobiographies, and original documents. The narrative intertwines with Mara Galassi's double harp, which resonates with the music of the composers loved and protected by the sovereign, from Bernardo Pasquini to Arcangelo Corelli and Girolamo Frescobaldi, evoking the portrait of a woman who proudly managed her own identity.
