Baroque Christmas between Rome and Naples - Alessandro Scarlatti Anniversary
14 December Italy / Valvasone
This concert is a musical journey featuring alternating instrumental and vocal compositions that not only celebrate the sacredness and enchantment of Christmas, but also the importance of the composers on the program, representatives of the Neapolitan and Roman musical schools, the beating hearts of Italian artistic life between the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries. Spanish Naples and papal Rome are linked here by the figure of Alessandro Scarlatti, whose death marks the three-hundredth anniversary this year.
