Where shall the weary traveller find their rest? As night falls, the imagination takes flight: a time for dark fears and magical dreams; for dread, wonder and deep, tranquil beauty. For centuries, composers and poets have found inspiration in the hours of darkness. Monteverdi and Dowland send up nocturnal prayers, Schubert and his contemporaries contemplate secret longings, and Rebecca Farthing and Owain Park find new beauty from old melodies.
