MOZART DIVINO. Divertimenti e Fuga
02 October Italy / Sassuolo (MO)
Free entry
Thursday 2 October, Sassuolo
Chiesa di San Giorgio, H. 9 PM
MOZART DIVINO
Divertimenti e Fuga
I Musicali Affetti
Fabio Missaggia concert violin
The program offers a fascinating comparison between two creative moments sixteen years apart in the life of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, bringing into dialogue the youthful freshness of his Divertimenti for strings with the almost sacral depth of his mature Adagio and fugue KV 546. The three Divertimenti of 1772 after trips to Italy reflect the influence of Milanese symphonism, with brilliant writing and a youthful spirit. On the contrary, the Adagio and fugue KV 546 of 1788, born from a great interest developed in Bach's fugues, combines a pressing adagio, full of dramatic tension, with the contrapuntal rigor of the fugue, revealing a more severe and meditative side of the Salzburg genius.
