Capella de Ministrers presents a concert program that brings together some of the most important Marian compositions from the Spanish medieval musical heritage.
The repertoire begins with a selection of Cantigas by King Alfonso X "El Sabio", such as the Cantiga Madre de Deus and the famous lament Ay, trista vida corporal, sung by the Virgin Mary in the liturgical drama of the Misteri d’Elx.
Also included are some of the chants born from the spirit of devotion to the Virgin found in the Llibre Vermell de Montserrat, in celebration of the millennium of the Monastery (1025–2025), along with one of the most well-known prophetic chants of the Middle Ages: the Song of the Sibyl.
