Les Goûts Réunis - Les Folies françoises

09 November France / Amilly

Georg Philipp Telemann is renowned for his ability to blend various European musical styles, as evidenced by his overtures, French-style dance suites and numerous Italian-style concertos. A lover of French music, which was very popular in the courts of the German principalities, Telemann incorporated all the colours of the galant style that was particularly fashionable in the 18th century.

More than just ornamentation, the flute becomes an instrument of emotional communication: the slow movements express deep feelings, while the fast passages demonstrate its technical agility.
