Italian music in France from Lully to Rameau - Thomas Soury
18 October France / Lannion
Since the end of the Renaissance, Italy has revolutionised the European musical landscape, notably by developing the opera genre. Very quickly, Italian music aroused admiration in some quarters in France and rejection in others. This lecture will be an opportunity to revisit the specific features of each repertoire and the scope of the main musical debates. It will enable us to rethink the relationship between France and Italy.
