Itinéraire Baroque en Périgord 2025

"Dear festival-goers,
Here is some news about what Itinéraire Baroque will look like in 2025.
There will now be two distinct parts: the off-season concerts and the summer festival.
The off-season concerts will take place in March, June, early July and December. On 22 March, the ensemble Les Meslanges kicked off the season after dedicating themselves to performances in schools.
The summer festival will allow you to discover new venues. We will be leaving our 'Dordogne Périgord' to explore the 'Périgord Charentais' in Edon, Blanzaguet Saint Cybard and the Grandmontain priory in Rauzet, Combiers. We will spend a whole day in La Rochebeaucourt, which will become 'La RocheBaroque' for the occasion!
Molière's theatre will be staged at the Château de la Mercerie in Magnac-La Valette-Villars, in Verteillac and at the magnificent Château de Belet in Saint Aquilin. The latter will be the setting for an exceptional evening, as this year's chosen work, George Dandin, will be accompanied, in this unique location, by the music of Lully, as it was during the performance at Versailles before Louis XIV in 1668. Gaëtan Jarry, conductor of the Royal Opera Orchestra of Versailles, will be conducting his ensemble Marguerite Louise for this royal entertainment!
Finally, this year we are launching a partnership with the city of Périgueux with two concerts at the Saint-Étienne de la Cité church. The first will feature the superb tenor Reinoud van Mechelen and his ensemble Nocte Temporis in a programme of French cantatas, and the second will close the summer festival with Ton Koopman and the Amsterdam Baroque Orchestra performing Johann Sebastian Bach's five orchestral suites.
Alongside some regulars, this edition will give you the opportunity to discover the ensembles Capella de la Torre, Amarine Belladiva, Dutch Baroque, Bertrand Cuiller's Caravansérail, as well as the young countertenor Constantin Zimmermann, Italian soprano Emilia Bertolini and violinist Ryo Terakado. We wish you all an excellent Itinéraire Baroque 2025."
