In the name of what, or of whom, should we listen to sacred music today? This immersive concert opens a sensory and reflective path through this question, guided by this quote from the philosopher Ludwig Wittgenstein: "How a single thought is enough to fill a whole life," superbly set to music by Steve Reich in Proverb .
From this hypnotic work, a network of pieces with spiritual resonances will be woven, in a constant interplay between past and present. A nod will also be paid to the trans artist Wendy Carlos, notably through cosmic arrangements of older works and the use of synthesizers.
La Tempête, a vocal and instrumental company, was founded in 2015 by Simon-Pierre Bestion. The ensemble's repertoire spans several aesthetics, drawing primarily on early and traditional music, as well as modern and contemporary works. Its projects are centered around the idea of a sensory immersion for the audience, seeking a unique moment for each encounter between a place, artists, and a public. The company thus cultivates a highly intuitive and sensory relationship with the works, whose reinterpretations are regularly praised by national and international critics.
