Mystical chants from the 12th century

The thought of something eternal has always inspired wonder and reflection. The music that comes closest to this “sound of eternity” is Perotin's early polyphonic compositions, which were created for the Gothic cathedral of Notre Dame in Paris. But this magic of polyphony can also come to life wonderfully in the churches of Cologne through special sound spaces. The ensemble Nusmido is now demonstrating this in the Christuskirche. There, spring awakening, the Easter story and the culture of the troubadours merge with polyphonic songs from Paris. The musicians create a space between mystical monumentality and lively performance that always offers a deeply moving communal experience.
