Il Giustino
27 April/18h00 Spain / Madrid
This spring, the thrilling world of Antonio Vivaldi’s Il Giustino comes to life in a series of concert performances in Madrid, Barcelona, and Bilbao.
Conductor Ottavio Dantone, the Accademia Bizantina ensemble and an extraordinary cast will take audiences on a journey through the heart of a baroque fairytale. Il Giustino tells a gripping tale of love, adventure, war, power and family feuds, in a fairytale-opera packed with characters and twists.
Ottavio Dantone gave an extraordinary reinterpretation, both for his extensive work on reconstructing the score and for his narrative approach, which transports the audience into the fairytale Vivaldi’s opera, where each note and gesture invites the audience deeper into a world of heroic deeds, betrayals, and fantastical elements.
The concert performances will feature an exceptional cast, including Delphine Galou as Giustino, Emöke Baráth as Arianna, and Sophie Rennert as Anastasio. The ensemble is further enhanced by the talents of Marie Lys, Emiliano Gonzáles Toro, Alessandro Giangrande, and Carlotta Colombo, all bringing their vocal mastery to the dynamic roles of this opera.
