HYPERSENSES is an immersive multisensory music performance rooted in one of the most enigmatic artworks of the late Middle Ages: The Lady and the Unicorn, a series of tapestries depicting the five senses — and a mysterious sixth: the sense of the heart.
In an age of overstimulation and mental noise, Laika, theater of the senses and Zefiro Torna invite us to pause and truly attend to what we experience. Images, tastes, scents and textures merge with live electro-acoustic music. Spellbinding 15th-century melodies interweave with contemporary sonic layers, forming one intense, richly layered experience that gently unsettles the mind.
Following their acclaimed collaboration BALSAM, Zefiro Torna — the Belgian ensemble that has spent thirty years making boundless musical journeys through time and sound — and Laika, theatre of senses, join forces once more. The result: HYPERSENSES is no ordinary concert, no ordinary theatre show. It is a ritual for all the senses at once.
