Heaven

26 January/20h00 France / Lyon

This concert is a celebration of English music through the ages. From early polyphony to the works of Benjamin Britten, and including gems of the British musical heritage, the Spirito Choir offers a dialogue between sacred and secular music, where the subtle balance sought by Britten in his work Sacred and Profane blends with the richness of the English musical tradition. Performed by a professional choir and a children's choir, this program connects us to the great European musical tradition, commemorating the anniversary of Benjamin Britten's death in 2026 and affirming our role as transmitters of this heritage.

Led by Thibaut Louppe, the Spirito choir embodies a bold and committed artistic vision. This chamber choir, with its flexible structure, explores a wide repertoire, from large a cappella choral works to operatic and contemporary projects, including pieces from the vocal heritage. A regular partner of the Lyon National Orchestra, Spirito also collaborates with the Orchestre des Pays de Savoie and the Orchestre National d'Auvergne, thus affirming its roots in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region. It is fully committed to cultural outreach (hospitals, prisons, retirement homes) and to music education.
