Haydn’s Seven Last Words performed by Theresia Orchestra in Italy
From 12 March to 14 March Italy / Lodi, Rovereto, Ravenna
Theresia Orchestra embarks on a poignant journey for its next orchestral residency in Lodi in the Italian region of Lombardy, exploring Haydn’s original orchestral version of his masterpiece The Seven Last Words of our Saviour on the Cross.
Commissioned in 1786 by the Oratorio de la Santa Cueva in Cadiz (Spain) for Good Friday, this work speaks to Haydn’s reputation and the far-reaching impact of his music. Interwoven with reflective spoken word mediations, Alfredo Bernardini will lead Theresia Orchestra in this meaningful work ahead of Easter with performances in Lodi (12/3), Rovereto (13/3) and Ravenna (14/3).
