Handel: Enchantresses
11 June United Kingdom / Cambridge
Having overcome London’s traditional resistance to Italian opera, Handel turned the art form into the city’s most fashionable entertainment. Sandrine Piau, Jérôme Correas and Les Paladins, with help from a programme of showstopping arias and virtuosic Italianate instrumental pieces, show why the capital’s audiences flocked to hear Handel’s latest productions three centuries ago. The concert will be about 80 minutes with no interval.
