Festival Via Mediaeval 2025
From 31 August to 18 October Germany / Rhineland-Palatinate
For the 2025 edition, the focus shifts to the final years with the theme “In Memoriam.” The opening concert will feature Anne Azéma and friends presenting the program “Le Roman de la Rose.”
A total of seven concerts, culminating in a grand Romanesque night at Worms Cathedral, will reflect this year’s motto. The participating ensembles include Ensemble Anne Azéma, Ensemble Contre le Temps, Ensemble Ordo Virtutum, Ensemble Lucidarium, Ensemble Ars Choralis Coeln, Ensemble Les Haulz et les Baz, and Ensemble Vox Nostra. Performances will take place at historic medieval sites across Rhineland-Palatinate, creating an immersive journey into the roots of European music history.
The festival continues its collaboration with long-standing partner Voix-Route-Romane. In Feldbach, the Spanish Ensemble Egeria will explore 12th- and 13th-century Spanish monodies and polyphony in a program dedicated to the theme.
