Early Music Festival in Pic Saint-Loup and Gorges de l'Hérault

A musical journey from the Middle Ages to the Baroque era in the heart of the Hérault

Every autumn, the majestic Pic Saint-Loup and the Gorges de l'Hérault come alive with a musical spirit from another time. From 11 to 19 October 2025, the Pic Saint-Loup and Gorges de l'Hérault Early Music Festival celebrates its 12th edition and invites music lovers and enthusiasts to musical encounters in exceptional heritage sites. Churches, vineyard landscapes and charming villages will welcome internationally renowned artists for a programme combining early music, new works and encounters.

Organised by Les Muses en Dialogue in partnership with the communities of communes of Grand Pic Saint-Loup and Vallée de l'Hérault, the festival, under the honorary presidency of Jordi Savall, offers five musical events this year.
This 12th edition celebrates the evocative power of medieval, Renaissance, Baroque and contemporary repertoires, offering a varied programme rich in discoveries. From 17th-century Italian music to medieval polyphony, traditional songs and dialogues between early and contemporary music, the festival invites everyone to immerse themselves in humanity's musical heritage. The churches of Rouet, Gignac, Saint Jean-de-Buèges and Saint Martin-de-Londres become venues for concerts that capture the richness, beauty and emotion of early music.

The opening on 11 October will feature a performance by Norwegian lutenist Rolf Lislevand in the church of Saint-Étienne in Gabriac, followed by a vibrant vocal encounter between Les Itinérantes and the Maîtrise de l'IRVEM in Gignac, and then a musical journey to the origins of song with Les Ombres and Fiona McGown in Saint-Jean-de-Buèges. The closing ceremony on 19 October in Saint-Martin-de-Londres will bring together the Pérotin le Grand ensemble for a musical tribute to the local church, celebrating 1,000 years of history.
